A few years ago I worked as supervisor as well as look development  for this spot for the tv show. The models and animation were all put together in maya and we comped in nuke. I set up a nuke script that used basic nuke passes plus some world points, and with only rgb lights in maya, rendered the scenes and in nuke created this water color effect that the owners at wildlife put together. I really enjoyed doing this because I like this style alot and creating it in nuke with maya passes ( v-ray ) was alot of fun . I . made " modules " for each character so I could then plug in the characters style to each nuke shot flow or tree.
